Hear Our Houston compensation
Thanks for being a Hear Our Houston contributor. This anonymous survey is a tool to help develop a long term equitable system for future contributors.
I would really appreciate your input!
How was your experience creating a Hear Our Houston tour?
How would you have felt about receiving monetary payment for contributing a tour?
Great. We deserve payment for our contributions.
Kind of strange. Those are personal stories.
Kind of strange. Those are public histories.
Don't want it. I did this for love, not money.
Don't need it. I make enough at my day job, it would be weird to get money for this.
Awesome. It would help me supplement all the rest of what I do in the world.
Insulted. I don't think you could afford the amount that the contribution is worth.
Finally! If Hear Our Houston receives any grant money, it should also pay contributors.
Good. If Hear Our Houston get's cultural capital from our contributions, we should get capital back.
It would be nice, but it is more important that the project keeps going and including more people than that each person is paid.
Yes. Also you owe me back pay.
Depends. Ensuring administration of the project is more important than paying for individual tours.
Neutral. It was a reciprocal experience in other ways, and money wouldn't have a huge effect.
Good. I worked hard on it, and that work deserves monetary payment.
In which, if any, ways do you feel compensated for your Hear Our Houston tour?
It's a good media piece for me/my organization
I am happy to share about my area
It was fun
I'm glad to be included in the archive
It led to other opportunities
It was part of a curriculum so I got credits/grade/got out of taking a test/wrtiing an essay
It helped me advocate for my experience/area/organization
I like being involved in this art project
I like adding my perspective to how Houston is represented
What other forms of compensation, if any, did you experience?
What other forms of compensation do you suggest?
If you are for monetary payment, how would you like it to be calculated?
A fixed percentage of whatever is currently funded- even if that means it goes down to zero when there is no funding
An honoraria that the contributor choses, some contributors can choose to donate back to the project for future lean times
A choice of honoraria along a scale
If there are funds available, do what you can as it comes
